Ray Leitch started life in Johannesburg and was educated there at St Andrews School. Then followed Cape Town where she graduated from the University of Cape Town with BA LLB in 1973.
After a time as a State Advocate she completed her Articles of Clerkship with Bowman Gilfillan & Blacklock in Johannesburg. Ray was admitted as an Attorney in 1976 and that year she married a Zululand farmer and moved to Melmoth.
She practiced as an attorney until the family moved to Umhlali in 1986. She then qualified as a Conveyancer and in 1994 she opened a practice specializing in property law. In 2001 she joined Jon De Wet and qualified through UNISA in the Administration of Deceased Estates. She currently heads the Conveyancing and Estates Departments at the firm.
She has also done extensive work in Sectional Title Developments,both Commercial and Residential, and has had considerable Administration of Deceased Estates experience. (She annually offers the Law Society free Wills week in September)
Her work includes drafting commercial contracts: Sale, Lease and Trusts.
